Most Popluar Blog Posts of 2016It’s that time of year when bloggers recycle their most popular posts of 2016 as a way to:

  • avoid thinking up new stuff during the holidays and
  • encourage you to read something you may have missed the first time around.

So here goes…

7 Most Popular Posts of 2016

  1.   “2016 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Procure-to-Pay Suites” was the most popular post of 2016. (So much for any suspense!)  This post’s popularity proves a) readers love their magic quadrants and b) most of my readers know me from my Ariba days.
  2. Coming in at #2 was a post from long ago entitled “Travelport, Sabre and Finally Amadeus”  I’d like to think the enduring popularity of this post is a reflection of how fascinating readers find the GDS platforms (as well they should).  Alas, I think this post’s popularity results from the fact the GDSs are big companies with employees who have spare time on their hands to surf the net.
  3. My third most popular post was another Gartner Magic Quadrant post from 2015!  See my comments on #1 above.
  4. Fortunately, the next most popular post was original work; my initial post on the Nine Value Propositions of B2B Platforms.
  5. Coming in at #5, was an oldie, but apparently goodie, post regarding Alibaba’s Take Rate.  The enduring popularity of this post demonstrates the wisdom in writing about a huge e-commerce company in the world’s most populous country.
  6. A humorous piece, my Airline Boarding Equivalency Chart, checks in at #6.  I’m glad folks enjoyed it.  That one was fun to write.
  7. Finally, the seventh most popular post was a post about the business model battle between AirBnB and HomeAway.  I guess you could call both of them “overnight” successes!  (Get it?)

I hope you enjoy these leftovers, and others, this holiday season.  Happy Holidays!
